Speaker cables
The Proson P-217A is worthwhile checking if you listen to the rock music a lot as you will not miss the drive and punch that cannot be extracted from a standard speaker cable from your local radio store. The P-217A is a very good entry-level speaker cable that will do the job until you collect money enough to move few steps further.
Funkce a forma
The Proson uses OFC strands in a polymer dielectric, the outer shell is represented by two layers of PVC plus a nylon braid.
Like many its contenders the Proson P-217A is a directional cable. It is available per piece so you will need two boxes to get a pair. The boxes are sturdy cardboard upholstered cases to carry the weight of the cables that are quite thick and stiff with the bend radius of approximately 50mm. I liked the outer mesh in indigo blue that seemed to be almost black in its appearance. I also liked long high gloss strands terminated with low-mass expandable spring plugs. Not only is this solution cheaper (and therefore widely use today) but it is an elegant solution too, provided that the springs are ‘springy’enough to keep tightly expanding inside loudspeaker terminals for a long time.

Čistota rozlišení
. Brand new and unpacked it was quite slow on bass, a tad synthetic on highs and not very resolved on mids. Fortunately there is the procedure called breaking in and we had Blue Horizon Proburn device on hand so it was the matter of a day to transform the Proson’s sound into real hifi. This is to say that the P-217A is quite sensitive and like e.g. Cardas or Krautwire should not be auditioned without proper settling in a system.

Once taken out of the Proburn conditioner the following changes happened: the upper octaves acquired a higher sense of delicacy, sometimes nasty sibilants were eliminated and the synthetic mist disappeared. The slow bass got swifter and became more integrated within the rest of the frequency spectrum to the extent that rock pieces were presented expressively and lively and with definitely more transparency than we experienced with the more expensive Sharkwire Melody No.2. The most relevant competitor of the Proson can be found in the Xindak SC-01 that is an overall better performer, however, the Proson is not far away and on top of that seduces a potential buyer with its highendish appearance.
